The anthology was launched in 2019 after Fest director Burrello learned an anonymous donor was looking to publish emerging CT fiction writers in a 400 page story anthology. Burrello countered with a shorter book featuring multiple genres edited by his students at CCSU. The 2020 and 2021 books featured eighty writers. Events were held state-wide and writers visited CT schools. In 2023 the venerable CT press Woodhall reinvigorated the project. The anthology was added to their list of terrific titles under the direction of publisher Christopher Madden and his able staff of editors. A 2025 edition is in the works.
That original donor has supported all five books. Whoever you are, thank you for supporting the literary arts. We all can learn from your example. Now more than ever.
